Port Dolphin LNG Developers Examining Options for Alternative Gas Pipeline Route

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP: The developers backing the Port Dolphin LNG deepwater port project will spend the next two weeks analyzing data from surveys of the ocean floor to help determine a new route for a proposed pipeline that will transport regasified natural gas 28 miles from the offshore project site to the Florida mainland. Port Dolphin needed to find a new path for the pipeline in part due to local opposition over possible impacts of the original route on a sand source that is used for local beach renourishment.
