You really have to hand it to a guy who is in a position to really help himself out with regard to sentencing by flipping on people for the government, yet he chooses not to.
A first-time drug offender can be offered a number of options to reduce a sentence in federal court. Throw in the fact the government thinks he can name an important international drug financier, and a person can really help themselves. But some people don't want to take a bite out of that apple.
Such is the predicament within which my client finds himself. His choice? Roughly translated, "I don't know nuthin' about nuthin'."
We start trial on Monday. And to think, I actually get paid to do this. Just living the dream.
